- Nurse:Patient Ratios 1:5-6
- Common diagnoses/Types of patients CHF, Sepsis, CIWA, SOB, Chest pain
- Experience or 'Must have' skills Med Surg nursing experience
- # Years Experience 1-2
- Previous Travel experience? Recommended but not required
- Are RNs required to titrate drips? Yes
- Common titratable &/or set rate drips Heparin
- Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? Yes. Charge nurses take patients on nights, occasionally takes patients during the day.
- Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties? Yes, 1 CNA per shift. If census is low, CNA is usually put on call or floated where there's a need.
- RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.) Are RNs required to do anything with these besides trouble shoot? CPAP, High Flow. Can call RT for hlp, however RT is not in house at night so would be beneficial to be familiar with this equipment
- Are there tele/monitor techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors? No
- Shift Details: 7a-7p/7p-7a
- Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling? No self scheduling, Blocked schedule may be ok depending on unit needs
- Weekend Requirement: EOW/3 of 6/per unit needs
- Holiday Requirement: Per unit needs
- Is there Call or a Standby requirement? Don't put travelers on call unless requested or unit is closed - potential, but unlikely.
- Floating Requirements ER, OB, ICU as helping hands - if ICU, may take pt assignment if the patient is ready to downgrade
- Scrub Color/Dress Code/Scrubs provided? Caribbean Blue
- How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation? 2-3

Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity within the past 12 months
RTO needed upfront - Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.
