Required Certifications: BLS and ACLS (NIHSS preferred and required upon hire during orientation)
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent acute care RN experience in a medical-surgical/telemetry setting. Experience caring for diverse patient populations and adapting to multiple clinical environments is strongly preferred.
EMR: Epic experience required.
Patient Ratio: Typically 1:4–6, based on unit acuity.
Scheduling: Every other weekend, rotating holidays (eve and day of holiday).
Floating: Nurses call before each shift for their unit assignment, report directly to the assigned unit, and participate in the unit safety huddle and standard workflows. Assignments may include any adult Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit, ED Holding, or IMC (caring for Med/Surg-Tele level patients). Occasional mid-shift reassignments may occur based on operational needs.
Patient Population: Adult patients with a broad range of diagnoses, including general medical-surgical, telemetry, neurology, stroke, orthopedics/trauma, elective joint and spine procedures, skeletal traction, and external fixation.
