YesGeneral Information:Beds: 23Minimum years of experience: 1 year of Mother-Baby/Postpartum experience and at least 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse.Will you accept a first-time traveler? YesPatient Types:Post partum and low risk ante-partum.Patient Ratios:1:3-4 Antepartum or coupletsRequired Licensure Certifications:BLS NRP, EFM preferredSkills required:Breastfeeding assistanceNewborn care, including vital signs, thermoregulation, managing hypoglycemia, bilirubin levels, and NAS (Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome) babies. Newborn lab and phlebotomy skills and IV skills (adult) are preferred, as well as experience with PKU testing.Ability to independently care for 3-4 couplets, provide discharge teaching, vaccinate neonates, and perform thorough assessments and reassessments for both mothers and babies. Must also be able to perform fundal checks on postpartum patients.Support on the Unit:Receptionist/HUC: 7 days per week and evening coverage till 0100 4 days per week.Charge nurse: Yes, in assignment with lower patient ratioLactation nurses 0730-1600 7 days per weekPhlebotomy? YesClinical Nursing Assistant Nurse Managers: 2 on days and 2 on nights (typically in charge role)RT: 24/7Hospitalist/OB: in house 24/7Anesthesia? No, only voluntarilyHoliday Expectations: No black out dates, holiday requirement is at least one winter holiday and one summer holidayRTO: up to 7 daysShift times: 0700-1930, 1900-0730Schedule cycle: 6 weeks schedule schedule is released 2 weeks prior or sooner; the holiday schedule will be 12 weeks, so everyone knows their schedule through winter.
