Description
Facility: Adventist Health Portland – Clinical Laboratory
Start Date: October 12, 2026
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Location: Portland, Oregon
Shift Options
Night Shift:
9:00 PM – 7:30 AM
7 days on / 7 days off rotation
Evening Shift:
3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
Varied days
Week 1: 4 × 10-hour shifts
Week 2: 3 × 10-hour shifts
Schedule runs Sunday–Saturday
Position Summary
The Medical Laboratory Technician performs specimen processing, laboratory testing, result reporting, clerical support, and patient-care support while maintaining accuracy and compliance with laboratory and regulatory standards.
The MLT may work across multiple laboratory sections, including:
Chemistry
Hematology
Microbiology
Blood Bank
Serology
Toxicology
Urinalysis
Phlebotomy/specimen processing
Requirements
Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology — Required
Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or equivalent — Preferred
ASCP, MT(AMT), or equivalent certification — Required
Oregon-specific certification requirements apply
Hospital laboratory experience — Preferred
