Description
Perform chest physiotherapy, including postural drainage, percussion, and vibration. Review chest X-rays to determine affected areas and position patients accordingly to enhance secretion clearance. Monitor patients for adverse reactions (e.g., dyspnea, cyanosis) and document treatment outcomes accurately.
Conduct Pulmonary Function Tests (PFTs) using specialized equipment to measure vital capacity, forced vital capacity (FVC), maximum inspiratory flow rate, and expiratory flow rates. Provide accurate data to support physician diagnosis and treatment of respiratory conditions.
Utilize screening devices for early detection of respiratory disorders and assist in pre-operative respiratory assessments.
Operate pulse oximetry equipment to monitor SpO₂ levels, ensuring waveform accuracy and performing basic maintenance of devices.
Educate patients and families on respiratory therapy procedures, including aerosol treatments, breathing exercises, and postural drainage techniques, in accordance with hospital policies.
Provide initial instruction to outpatients and home-care patients regarding respiratory care techniques and therapy compliance.
Maintain strict adherence to infection control and safety protocols, reporting any unsafe equipment or conditions promptly.
Ensure a clean, organized, and well-stocked patient care environment to promote safety and efficiency.
Uphold strict confidentiality of patient and facility-related information in compliance with healthcare regulations.
Support cardiopulmonary rehabilitation programs, including patient education on disease management, peak flow monitoring, medication adherence, ABG interpretation, and oxygen conservation exercises.
Assist in Electroencephalogram (EEG) procedures by placing electrodes, recording brain activity, monitoring vital signs, and preparing data for physician interpretation.
Participate in polysomnography (sleep studies) to assess and monitor sleep-related disorders.
