Description
- Position: Respiratory Therapist
- Experience Required: Minimum 2 years (including Trauma Level 1 experience)
- Shift: Night shifts, 7:00 pm – 7:30 am; 4x12 or 3x12 hour shifts per week
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Scheduling Requests: Must be submitted with application; approval subject to facility
- Call Off Policy: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
- Traveler Status: First-time travelers accepted
- Locals: Accepted per facility radius rule
- License: Active South Carolina RRT license required at submission
- Certifications: ACLS and BLS required
- Patient Population: Adults/Geriatrics
- Skills Required:
- Proficiency in adult critical care
- Experience with extubation, nasal/oral airway placement, suctioning, pulmonary hygiene, sputum collection, tracheostomy care
- Administration of respiratory medications (e.g. albuterol, Atrovent, flovent, etc.) via multiple delivery methods (aerosol mask/trach, MDI, nebulizers)
- Use of high flow nasal cannula, trach collar oxygen therapy, BiPAP, CPAP
- Troubleshooting high pressure alarms and weaning from mechanical ventilation
- Charting System: Minimum 1 year of EPIC charting experience required
- Floating: May be required to float to other units or campuses within skill set and competency
- Special Notes: All time-off and special scheduling requests must be submitted with application; approval not guaranteed
