Description

Job Summary (List Format):

- Shift/Schedule: 3x12 hour shifts, Nights (7pm-7am), every other weekend (EOW); required to work one holiday and one holiday eve during the holiday period; no on-call.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered.
- Certifications: BLS required; ACLS preferred.
- Skills/Requirements:
- Experience with Rapid Response Teams.
- Orthopedic and trauma nursing experience required.
- Specialization in pre-op and post-op ortho care.
- Experience caring for elective and trauma orthopedic patients.
- Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical record system required.
- Patient Ratio: 1 nurse to 6 patients, may stretch to 7.
- Common Procedures/Cases: Total hip, knee, and shoulder replacements and repairs; orthopedic trauma cases.
- Equipment Used: Safe patient handling equipment, CPM, knee immobilizer, bone foam, and other orthopedic equipment.
- Other Requirements: Must pass a mandatory EKG exam for all RNs.
- Compliance: Must complete compliance process by 12 Noon EST the Wednesday prior to start date.
- Attendance: Zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences; flexibility in scheduling required.
