Job Summary – RN MedSurg/Tele
⢠Facility: 174-bed hospital, TJC Stroke accredited, community nursing teaching facility, part of Lee Garvey Chest Pain Network
⢠Unit: 44-bed MedSurg/Tele, average census 44 patients/day
⢠Experience Required: Minimum 2 years MedSurg/Tele RN experience
⢠Licensure/Certifications: RN license, BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
⢠Patient Population: Primarily cardiac (chest pain, MI, N-STEMI, new arrhythmias), medical overflow, potential stroke patients
⢠Patient Ratios: RN 1:4-5; CNA 1:8-9
⢠Key Skills: Cardiac/telemetry monitoring, IV starts, drain/tube/wound care, NGT placement, central line management
⢠Medications Managed: Non-titrating Cardiac drips (Cardizem, Amiodarone), Heparin drips, blood products
⢠Support Staff: CNAs, HUC/Receptionist, Charge RN, Team Lead, Phlebotomy, IV/VAT Team, Respiratory Therapy, Hospitalist and Intensivist 24/7, centralized telemetry techs
⢠Technology: Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell med dispensing, Phillips monitors
⢠Floating: Required within region and scope of practice to multiple facilities; paid for travel time if floated mid-shift
⢠Orientation: NEO plus 2 days of departmental orientation
⢠Other Information: Navy scrubs, free parking, supportive and collegial unit culture, travelers must live 50+ miles from facility
