RN - CVICU ● About Facility: 1 Medical Center Blvd, Winston-Salem, NC 27157 885 licensed beds Level 1 Trauma Designation Teaching Hospital: Yes, Academic Medical Center Chest Pain Center Stroke Center ● Unit Information: Beds: 22 Bed ICU ▪ Census: 20 patients/day Minimum Years of Experience required: 1 year minimum with CVICU experience Will you accept a first-time traveler: Yes, with CVICU Experience ● Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: Surgical and Medical Cardiac Critical Care unit, that cares for patients suffering cardiovascular support. Common seen diagnosis Post operations for CABG, valve replacement/ repair, Impella, IABP management, thoracic aortic aneurysms etc. ● Patient Ratios: RN: 1:2 CNA: 1:20 ● Required Licensure Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS CCRN (preferred) ● Skills required: EPIC experience (preferred); Post cardiac assessment, know how to care for circulatory support (IABP, IMPELLA, LVAD, ECMO), titration of vasoactive and antiarrhythmic medication, interpretation of cardiac waveforms, and hemodynamic monitoring. ● Support within the Department: CNA: ADLs, Blood Sugar, vital signs and transport Receptionist: Unit management of phone calls, and replacement.
