Job Summary: Registered Nurse, PCU (Progressive Care Unit)

- Location: Rochester General Hospital, Rochester, NY
- Shift Details: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, 13-week contract
- Scheduling Requirements:
- Every other weekend & holiday required
- Submit time-off/special scheduling requests with application
- May be canceled up to 3 shifts per contract by client
- Charting: EPIC experience required
- License/Certifications:
- Active New York Single State RN license required (no compact, no pending)
- ACLS, BLS, NIHSS certifications required
- Clinical Skills Needed:
- Telemetry & stepdown-level care (PCU/DOU/IMC)
- Cardiac monitoring, emergency response, dysrhythmia management
- Experience with Rapid Response/Code teams
- Oxygen therapy, non-invasive airway management
- Managing cardiac drips (no titration), blood product administration
- Central and peripheral line management, IV therapy, phlebotomy
- Adherence to isolation precautions
- Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics with long-term pulmonary, ENT surgery, and other surgical stepdown needs
- Nurse to Patient Ratios: 1:4-5
- Floating: Required to float within skillset as needed
- Uniform: Navy blue and white scrubs (any combination)
- Travelers/Locals: First-time travelers accepted; RNs within 75 miles not accepted as locals

This role is ideal for an experienced stepdown/tele RN with strong cardiac and emergency response skills, who is comfortable working nights, weekends, holidays, and floating as needed in a high-acuity teaching hospital setting.
