Key Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostic echocardiograms (2D, M-mode, Doppler) on adult and pediatric patients.
- Complete at least 9 studies per shift.
- Coordinate with various hospital departments for scheduling, patient transport, and billing.
- Assist cardiologists with exam preparation, measurements, and reporting.
- Deliver, pick up, and distribute dictations promptly.
- Respond to patient needs and report changes in condition to appropriate staff.
- Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked exam rooms and order supplies as needed.
- Log and file patient records and exams.
- Participate in departmental and hospital-wide Performance Improvement initiatives.
- Share responsibility for on-call coverage for emergency echo exams.
- Ensure quality control of equipment and coordinate repairs as needed.
- Stay current on advances in Echocardiography and seek ongoing mentorship.
- Assist with other cardiac procedures as required.

Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a two-year allied health program (patient care related) preferred.
- Certifications/Licenses:
- A.R.D.M.S./CCI registered or registry eligible, or comparable national accreditation.
- State of New Mexico Echo Sonographer License.
- BLS certification (American Heart Association).  
- Experience: Minimum two years’ experience performing echocardiograms preferred.
