Job Description – Registered Nurse

Patient Population / Unit:

• MI, CHF, Arrhythmias, PVD, and some Med-Surg overflow
• Department manages multiple cardiac drips; nitrates are not managed
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 5:1, occasionally 6:1

Pay & Schedule:

• 36 or 48 hours/week guaranteed
• Day shift: 7:00 AM–7:00 PM
• Start: ASAP
• Every other weekend
• No call
• Overtime is not billable until after 48 hours

Floating:

• Required to float when needed within scope of practice

Required Certifications / Licensure:

• BLS – AHA required
• ACLS – AHA required
• Active RN license in the state of employment or compact RN license

Experience:

• 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred
• Med-Surg experience/competency required for orientation

Education:

• BSN preferred

Dress Code:

• Ceil Blue scrubs

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care using the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Provide routine and complex care to assigned patients.
• Administer medications and treatments according to appropriate protocols.
• Monitor patients for medication side effects and treatment effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Assess patient and family learning needs and provide appropriate education.
• Address psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Make appropriate assignments and delegate tasks to other care providers as needed.
• Maintain required competency and clinical skills.
