Description

Job Summary

- Provide pulmonary care for critical, non-critical, and chronically ill adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients under physician direction with minimal supervision
- Perform patient assessments and initiate respiratory care plans
- Carry out technical and diagnostic respiratory therapy procedures throughout the hospital
- Respond to emergencies (Code Blue and White)
- Manage airways, including nasotracheal and endotracheal suctioning
- Deliver aerosolized medications
- Set up and operate ventilators
- Maintain oral hygiene and airway devices (including BiPAP and CPAP)
- Administer and monitor oxygen therapy
- Analyze chest films, blood gases, and EKGs
- Ensure accurate and complete clinical documentation
- Clean and stock respiratory equipment and supplies
- Participate in CAP and JC surveys
- Potentially serve as Shift Leader or Team Leader
- Perform advanced practice skills such as:
- Therapeutic gas management (INO and HeO2)
- Pulmonary function testing
- Bronchoscopy assistance
- Hemodynamic and waveform monitoring
- Nocturnal SpO2 evaluation (Desaturation Studies)
- Polysomnography
- Patient transport duties
- Work in PICU, NICU, and Pediatric ER as required
- Adhere to applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies

Job Requirements:

- RT or RCP License in Texas required
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by NBRC required
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications (AHA only) required
- 1–3 years of relevant experience preferred
- Work Schedule: Nights (6:45 PM – 7:00 AM)
Med Ninjas Job ID #15745. Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
