Job Summary (List Format):

- Assists in organizing and coordinating supplies and equipment to ensure efficient and cost-effective department operations.
- Collects patient data as directed by the RN, adhering to unit-based performance standards.
- Performs accurate documentation on the nursing unit and in patient records per established guidelines.
- Applies aseptic principles to maintain a clean and/or sterile environment and ensures separation of clean and dirty items.
- Communicates effectively with team members, patients, and families.
- Assists providers with various procedures and treatments.
- Cleans and sterilizes instruments in accordance with hospital and nursing society policies.
- Cleans and stocks exam and procedure rooms.
- Obtains and transports specimens in compliance with hospital policy.
- Serves as a resource for technical equipment within the department.
- Assists with inventory management and restocking of supplies.
- Prepares procedure rooms with required supplies and equipment.
- Assists the physician with necessary equipment for procedures.
- Reprocesses endoscopes according to protocols.
- Assists the RN in providing patient care within defined scope of practice.
- Assists the physician in collecting specimens.

Required Skills & Experience:

- At least one (1) year of surgical tech experience.
- Ability to independently scrub basic surgical procedures.
- Demonstrates problem-solving skills related to surgical procedures.
- Basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, microbiology, and pharmacology for optimal patient care.
- Basic understanding of electricity, chemistry, computers, robotics, and lasers as they relate to surgical patient care.
- Knowledge and practice of patient care concepts and effective perioperative teamwork.
- Applies sterile technique principles during surgical procedures.
