RN – Med Surg / Post-Surgical Inpatient | Nights

Position: Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg
Department: Post-Surgical / Inpatient
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Hours: 36 hours/week
Weekends: Rotating
Holidays: Rotating
Location: Kansas

Job Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients recovering from various surgical procedures.
• Monitor vital signs, patient conditions, and post-operative recovery.
• Administer medications, IV fluids, and treatments as ordered.
• Monitor patients for post-operative complications and changes in condition.
• Perform assessments and communicate significant findings to the appropriate provider.
• Assist with pain management and post-operative care.
• Maintain accurate patient documentation and care plans.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, patient care technicians, and other healthcare professionals.
• Provide patient and family education regarding recovery and discharge instructions.
• Follow infection-control and patient-safety protocols.

Requirements

• AHA BLS – Required at submission
• AHA ACLS – Required at submission
• Kansas RN license or Multistate/Compact RN license – Required at submission
• Previous Post-Surgical/Inpatient or corresponding Med Surg experience must be listed on the work history at submission.
• Candidate's true interview availability must be included at the time of submission.

Overnight Staffing

• No physician is in-house during evenings, nights, or weekends.
• Depending on patient census, the RN will work alongside another RN/LPN and/or Patient Care Tech.
• A physician is available on call for emergencies.
