Description

Job Summary :

- Position: Operating Room Nurse (Travel)

- Holiday Requirement: Must work 1-2 of 3 upcoming winter holidays unless unit is closed
- Unit Details:
- 16-bed OR (16 suites, 12-14 run routinely)
- Level 1 trauma center; average 35-50 cases/day
- Patient ratio: 1:1
- Scrubs provided
- Equipment: 3 Da Vinci robots, Stealth neuro navigation, Synthes/Stryker for ortho trauma
- Service lines: Cardiac/PV, Neuro, Ortho (mainly trauma), Robotics, Gyn, Uro, General, Pediatrics, Transplants, some ENT/Plastics
- Expect turnovers <20 minutes
- Scrub and circulate both preferred
- Weekend call: Friday end of shift to Monday 6:30 am
- Floating: Required across all campuses
- Experience Requirements:
- 24 months current operating room experience (hospital/medical center prioritized)
- Circulating/OR experience required
- Scrub experience highly preferred
- Required case experience: General, Da Vinci Robotics, Pediatrics, Trauma
- Highly preferred: Neuro, Ortho (primarily trauma), Gyn, Uro, Transplants, Plastics, ENT, Vascular
- EPIC EMR experience in past 3 years required
- Trauma Level I experience highly preferred, Level II required
- No first-time travelers; must have completed travel assignment in past 15 months
- Orthopedic scrubbing experience highly preferred
- Compliance/Documentation:
- Submit resume with 24 months current OR experience
- Skills checklist for OR Nurse/Scrub required
- Active Iowa or Compact RN license required at submission
- Professional reference (preferred) from supervisor/manager/executive within last 24 months
- Driver's license required
- AHA or ARC BLS certification required
- Scheduling/Pay:
- NBO: 16 hours
- EMR: EPIC
- OT/Holiday: 1.15x
- Call Back: 1.5x with 2-hour minimum (must have left premises and been called back)
- On Call: $9/hr
- Charge/Precept: $6/hr
- OT billable after 40 hrs/week (for 36-40 hr/week), after 48 hrs/week (for 48 hr/week)
- Other: Scrubs provided, must be willing to float, must meet all submission and compliance requirements

Certifications Required:
- BLS (AHA or ARC)

State License Required:
- Iowa RN or Compact license

Med Ninjas Job ID #16537. Pay package is based on 10 hour shifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
