Registered Nurse – Intermediate Care / Step-Down

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse will utilize the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care. The RN will collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team through a Shared Governance model to promote evidence-based care and a healing environment for patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Provide safe, comprehensive, and evidence-based nursing care to patients in an Intermediate Care/Step-Down setting.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
• Promote patient and family involvement in the plan of care and support positive patient outcomes.
• Demonstrate the organization's PRIDE values: Professionalism, Respect, Involvement, Dignity, and Excellence.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation in accordance with nursing standards and hospital policies.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and members of the healthcare team.
• Utilize computer systems and electronic documentation effectively.
• Follow established patient-safety practices, clinical protocols, and evidence-based standards.
• Float to other units as needed based on staffing and patient-care requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of Intermediate Care/Step-Down RN experience
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
• Strong communication and computer skills

Required Certifications

• BLS – Required

Schedule

• Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Hours: 36 hours/week
• Schedule: 3 × 12-hour shifts
• Weekend: Every 3rd weekend
• Holiday: 1 summer holiday
• Floating: As needed
• Unit: Simon 2
• Minimum Degree: Associate's Degree
