Description
- Position: Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse - Charge Nurse
- Charge Experience: Must have prior Charge Nurse experience; regularly works in the Charge role
- Location Requirement: Must have AK RN license in hand for auto offer; permanent address must be >50 miles from facility
- Assignment Length: 13 or 26 weeks
- Start Date: ASAP
- Shift: 3x12 or 4x12 hour night shifts
- Experience Required: Minimum 1 year RN experience
- First Time Travelers: Accepted
- Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate & Advanced, NRP
- Skills Required: Per unit description; Charge experience preferred or willingness to train
- On-call: Not required
- Weekends: Every other weekend required
- Floating: May float to similar units as needed
- Block Scheduling: Not accommodated
- Locals: Not accepted
- Pending License: Accepted, but must have license in hand for auto offer
- Time Off (RTO): Must be included in submission; approved individually post-offer
- Guaranteed Hours: 60 hours per 2 weeks (may be called off one 12-hour shift per 2 weeks)
- Unit Information:
- OB Triage/Testing: 5-10, 7-14
- Labor & Delivery/Antepartum High Risk
- 10 OB Triage Rooms, 10 LDR Rooms, 3 OR Suites, 4 PACU Rooms
- Average daily deliveries: 7; up to 14 patients including high-risk/inductions
- OB Triage averages 4-5 third trimester testing patients plus daily triage influx
- Facility Information:
- Acute hospital, Magnet facility, Level II Trauma, USNWR Best Hospital in Alaska
- 407 staffed beds
