Travel Nurse RN - Labor and Delivery

Job Summary (List Format):

- 4x12 hour shifts possible; 1-year experience required
- Must have high-risk Labor & Delivery (L&D) experience; new travelers/first timers accepted
- Work includes every other weekend and holidays as needed; pre-approved time off considered case by case
- Float required to Postpartum/Antepartum and may float to sister facilities with Mother/Baby units
- Patient population includes midwifery clients, private OB patients, substance recovery (Adult Recovery Services), and community care clinics
- Must use EPIC (EMR) and be proficient in electronic fetal monitoring
- Staffing follows AWHONN guidelines; high value placed on experience
- High volume, high acuity L&D unit with 4 operating rooms (ORs)
- Must be able to function as Baby Nurse during delivery and continue newborn care until transfer to postpartum
- Must be able to circulate in the OR (required skill)
- Responsible for newborn care including eye prophylaxis, vitamin K injection (thighs), and newborn assessments
- Administers medications such as Heparin, Insulin, Magnesium Sulfate
- Unit averages 15 patients daily; 500-600 deliveries per month; 31 rooms/beds
- Schedule posted every 6 weeks and determined by unit needs
- Required certifications: BLS, NRP
- Preferred certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate
