Travel Nurse RN - Labor and Delivery

Job Summary (List Format):

- Location: Local candidates at the same rate; perm candidates from other Providence facilities (non-Swedish) eligible for travel contract if separated for 3+ months.
- Licensure: Active compact license accepted at all Swedish facilities.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year required; must have high-risk experience.
- First Time Travelers: Accepted.
- Scheduling:
- Pre-approved time off considered case-by-case.
- Must work every other weekend and holidays as needed.
- Schedule posted every 6 weeks to meet unit needs.
- Floating:
- Required to float to Postpartum/Antepartum units as needed.
- May float to sister facilities offering Mother/Baby care.
- Patient Population:
- Midwifery clients, private OBs, adult recovery services (substance recovery), community care clinics.
- High-risk/high-volume L&D (Labor & Delivery) – all types.
- Procedures/Unit Details:
- 4 ORs; 31 rooms/beds.
- Average daily census: 15; 500–600 deliveries/month.
- Fast-paced, high acuity environment.
- Essential Skills/Requirements:
- EPIC: Mandatory (EPIC hard stop).
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring: Experience valued.
- AWHONN Guidelines: Staffing follows these.
- Baby Nurse Role: Functions as Baby Nurse during delivery, continues newborn care until transfer to postpartum (hard stop requirement).
- Circulate Role: Must be able to circulate (hard stop requirement).
- Provide NB (newborn) care: eye care, thigh injections (Vitamin K), assessments.
- Administer Heparin, Insulin, Magnesium Sulfate as needed.
- Certifications:
- Required: BLS, NRP
- Preferred: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate
