Description



As a member of the interdisciplinary team, the traveler contributes professional/clinical knowledge and skills in the provision and management of care to patients. 

  • NBO: 16 hrs
  • EMR: EPIC
  • OT/Holiday: 1.15x multiplier
  • Call Back: 1.5x multiplier with 2 hr CB minimum
  • On Call: $9/hr
  • Charge/Precept: $6/hr

Billable OT: 

  • 36-40 hrs/week, OT billable after 40
  • 48 hrs/week, OT billable after 48

 

Employee Separation Policy:  Any past employee of UPH, whether FTE or PRN for the UPH float pool, cannot work travel in another Market, no matter which facility they currently work at or have worked at within the past 12 months.  If they worked travel at UPH (not FTE or PRN), the separation policy does not apply

Local Radius rule: No locals - All candidates must be at least 50 miles from the facility (based on driver's license)

Orientation Date(s): 10/26, 11/9

Winter Holidays: Traveler will be required to work 2 of 3 (Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, New Years Day). Limit of 1 day request off between 11/25-11/29 and 12/23-12/27 for all travelers.

  • Patient Ratios: 1:4-5 Days, 1:5-6 Nights
  • Navy Blue Scrubs
  • Gen Med patients
Submission Requirements
  • 2+ years of med-surg experience - [required]
  • Epic Experience - [required]
  • Heparin drip experience - [preferred]
  • First-time traveler okay
  • The traveler may be asked to float within the same discipline across local campuses.

  • Work history
  • Skills Checklist must be specific to the discipline listed on the job (ICU) – [required] [document]
  • 1 Supervisory Reference Form completed within the last two years – [required] [document]
  • Nursys must state Active Iowa/IA or compact nursing license – [required] [document]
  • Active BLS (AHA Preferred; Will also accept ARC or US Military certificates) – [required] [document]
