Description
Job Summary (List Format):
- Coordinate outpatient and inpatient services for Cayuga Medical Center at Ithaca.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate services provided for patients.
- Serve as a liaison between hospital and physicians, ensuring continuity of care for inpatients and outpatients.
- Perform preadmission nursing assessments, testing, and care coordination for procedures.
- Coordinate inpatient and outpatient procedures with physicians and other relevant groups.
- Provide post-procedure care and assessment for patients.
- Promote quality patient care by establishing and monitoring standards of care.
- May function as a designated charge nurse.
- Supervise LPNs, Endoscopy Technicians, Hospital Aides, and Patient Access Representatives as needed.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, comprehensive, and cost-effective patient care.
- Prepare appropriate equipment and supplies for physicians for each procedure.
- Participate in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in a fast-paced environment.
- Collect and update patient data accurately.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
- Disinfect and organize equipment and supplies used during procedures.
- Educate patients and families on health care and reinforce physician instructions.
- Develop, implement, and monitor appropriate standards, policies, and procedures.
- Stay accountable for information and in-service education communicated through various channels.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships and foster a positive work environment.
- Flexibly assume other appropriate responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements Summary:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Current NYS Registered Nursing license.
- Current BLS certification; ACLS certification to be obtained before completion of introductory period.
- Physical ability to meet the demands of the role (lifting, standing, walking, etc.).
- On-call requirement; four 10-hour shifts per week.
- Work location: Cayuga Endoscopy Center and Cayuga Medical Center Endoscopy Unit.

Med Ninjas Job ID #17958. Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
