Position: Operating Room RN
Contract: 13 Weeks
Shift: 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
Schedule: 8-hour Days
Weekend: Required
Holiday: Required
Call: Required
Call Response Time: 30 minutes
Radius Rule: 100-mile radius

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current, active New York State RN license.
• BLS required.
• ACLS preferred.
• Previous Operating Room/OR experience required.
• Preceptorship, charge, and leadership experience preferred for experienced RNs.

Role Responsibilities

The OR RN will provide safe, high-quality patient care while demonstrating strong clinical judgment, organization, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities include:

• Assessing and responding to patients' clinical, educational, mental, and spiritual needs.
• Providing quality nursing care in an OR/ASU environment.
• Maintaining a safe and aseptic environment.
• Properly utilizing clinical equipment and instrumentation.
• Recognizing and addressing patient and staff safety concerns.
• Assessing and implementing appropriate patient-lifting techniques and equipment.
• Prioritizing and delegating nursing responsibilities appropriately.
• Functioning effectively in stressful situations.
• Demonstrating strong creative problem-solving skills.
• Providing leadership and potentially assuming Charge Nurse responsibilities.
• Communicating effectively with patients, physicians, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team.
• Maintaining excellent written and verbal documentation.
