Position: Travel Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery
Shift: Night Shift – 3 × 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Weekly Hours: 36 hours
Overtime: After 40 hours
Charting System: EPIC

Required Certifications:

• ACLS

• AWHONN Advanced

• BLS

• NRP

Experience Requirement: Minimum 1.5 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience. Candidates with less than 2 years of experience may be considered depending on their clinical experience. 1.5 years is a hard stop.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Travel Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality nursing care to mothers and newborns throughout labor, delivery, and the immediate postpartum period. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical assessment skills, experience managing high-risk pregnancies, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced maternity care environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor maternal vital signs, fetal heart rates, and uterine contractions throughout labor.

• Provide nursing care during labor, vaginal deliveries, and cesarean section procedures.

• Perform maternal and fetal assessments and promptly identify potential complications.

• Administer medications, IV fluids, and prescribed treatments.

• Assist physicians and other healthcare providers during labor and delivery.

• Interpret fetal heart rate patterns and recognize signs of fetal distress.

• Provide immediate postpartum care and monitor maternal recovery.

• Educate and support patients and families throughout the childbirth process.

• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation using EPIC.

• Follow infection control guidelines, patient safety protocols, and facility policies.

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid for the assignment in California.

• Minimum 1.5 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience.

• Current BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced certifications.

• Previous EPIC charting experience.

• Strong clinical assessment, critical-thinking, and communication skills.

• Ability to provide safe, compassionate, evidence-based maternal and newborn care
