Position: Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Room (ER)

Shift: Night Shift, 3 × 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Contract: 13 weeks (confirm with recruiter)
Experience Required: 1.5 years preferred; minimum 1 year required
First-Time Travelers: Accepted
Charting System: Epic preferred
Local Candidates: Not accepted – must live at least 75 miles from the facility

Certifications Required

• BLS

• ACLS

• PALS

• NIHSS

Job Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department nursing experience; strong ER experience is essential.

• Experience caring for adult and pediatric emergency patients.

• Mandatory competency in phlebotomy and IV insertion.

• Ability to interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias.

• Experience managing multisystem organ dysfunction and critically ill patients.

• Blood product administration and central line care/management.

• Experience with continuous IV sedation, paralytics, IV vasopressors, and emergency medications.

• Procedural sedation administration and CVA management.

• Knowledge of isolation precautions.

• Willingness to float to other units when census requires.

• Must work every other weekend.

• Minimal RTO (requested time off) is preferred.

• Pending licenses are not accepted.

Ratios and Scheduling

• Patient Ratio: 1:5, with mixed/shared acuity levels.

• Block Scheduling: May be accommodated but is not guaranteed.

• Scrub Color: Any combination of navy and white.

• Work Environment: Very busy, fast-paced Emergency Department. Only strong ER nurses with solid clinical skills are likely to pass screening.

Candidate Summary

Seeking a strong Emergency Room RN with at least 1 year of experience, preferably 1.5 years or more, in a busy adult/pediatric ED. Candidates must possess BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications, demonstrate competency in phlebotomy and IV insertion, and be comfortable managing high-acuity emergencies. Epic experience is preferred.
