Job Summary (List Format):

- Provide professional nursing care for a group of patients using the nursing process within institutional philosophy.
- Perform all unit-specific responsibilities and duties within scope of service.
- Apply procedures and theories relevant to the area of practice.
- Accurately document nursing care to ensure information integration for the healthcare team.
- Complete initial patient assessments and develop care plans based on patient/family needs and unit standards.
- Implement and modify plans of care and nursing interventions as needed through continuous evaluation.
- Ensure patient and employee safety by identifying and addressing safety hazards.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members; resolve issues directly and privately.
- Offer constructive feedback and collaborate with peers for professional development and knowledge sharing.
- Identify personal learning needs and take initiative in professional growth.
- Fulfill all departmental competency requirements.
- Manage care for acute and chronically ill cardiac and pulmonary patients.
- Collaboratively set patient care goals and maintain individualized care plans with patients and families.
- Administer medications, evaluate effects, prepare patients for procedures, manage pain, perform IV venipuncture, blood administration, and monitor lab results.
- Discharge patients and provide safe transition instructions.
- Document all patient care in EMR (EPIC experience required).
- Participate in team huddles and ensure effective team communication.
- Evaluate patients and delegate tasks with follow-up.
- Respond to call lights and ensure basic patient care (turning, toileting, etc.) is provided per standards.
- Manage conflicts and maintain professional communication with all team members.
- Work 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM).
- Required: Minimum one year of nursing experience, ASN degree, Illinois RN license, BLS/ACLS (AHA), Cardiac/Tele, Trauma 1, and EPIC experience.
- Preferred: BSN degree.
- English language proficiency required.
