Job Summary

Coordinate patient care delivery using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation).
Develop and implement individualized plans of care based on patient needs and clinical judgment.
Promote patient safety and facilitate smooth transitions through the healthcare encounter.
Delegate nursing interventions to appropriate healthcare personnel based on patient condition and staff competencies.
Modify care plans as needed to meet clinical outcomes.
Evaluate and improve nursing practice using evidence-based methods and participate in quality/performance improvement initiatives.
Create a compassionate, safe, and therapeutic environment for patients, families, and staff.
Incorporate patient and family diversity into care plans (cultural, spiritual, socioeconomic, etc.).
Advocate for and protect patient confidentiality, dignity, autonomy, and rights.
Facilitate patient, family, and staff learning regarding health, treatments, and disease prevention.
Utilize resources efficiently to ensure safe, effective, and patient-centered care.
Demonstrate professionalism by participating in shared governance, continuing education, and peer development.
Maintain knowledge of nursing standards, medical ethics, hospital protocols, and regulatory requirements.
Utilize computer systems for documentation, scheduling, and communication.
Must pass an EKG test upon starting assignment.
Maintain required certifications (RN, BLS, ACLS) and minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
Adhere to uniform requirements (Navy scrubs) and maintain a 2:1 patient ratio.
Commit to providing age-specific, diverse, and patient-centered care.
