- Evaluates and treats patients of all ages with speech and language needs.
- Acts as a role model in delivering professional clinical services.
- Serves as a clinical resource for staff and students.
- Collects and integrates case history information from patients, families, caregivers, teachers, and other professionals.
- Selects and administers appropriate evaluation procedures for each patient.
- Recognizes and respects the needs, values, communication preferences, and cultural/linguistic backgrounds of patients and their support systems.
- Conducts comprehensive speech and language pathology assessments.
- Selects or develops suitable materials and instruments for prevention and intervention.
- Develops and implements patient-specific plans of care with measurable, achievable goals.
- Collaborates with patients and relevant stakeholders in the care planning process.
- Interprets and synthesizes assessment data to create and adjust treatment plans.
- Implements interventions to address the functional and emotional needs of patients and families.
- Modifies treatment approaches based on patient behavior and performance.
- Utilizes standardized outcome measures and evaluations to accurately reflect patient progress.
- Completes thorough and timely documentation in compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
- Collaborates and communicates with patients, families, and significant others throughout the rehabilitation process, providing necessary education and training.
- Clearly communicates patient status, changes, and treatment recommendations to the medical team, including recommendations for next level of care.
