Job Summary (List Format):

- Provide nursing care in a specialized neurosurgical unit with a diverse patient population.
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team specializing in brain tumors, spinal malformations, neuroendovascular, and epilepsy surgery.
- Care for patients in both floor-level and high-acuity step-down unit settings, including monitoring patients with complex neurological and hemodynamic needs.
- Perform frequent neuro checks (Q1), manage EVDs, lumbar and subdural drains, and administer medications like 3% NS and Cardene drips.
- Monitor and manage arterial lines, care for patients post-carotid endarterectomy, post-aneurysm coiling/clips, post-DBS insertion, and those with VP shunts.
- Provide seizure management and telemetry monitoring.
- Rotate through Day, Evening, and Night shifts, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and callback as needed.
- Work 36 or 48 hours per week, depending on unit needs.
- Function as Charge RN as needed.

Requirements:

- Stepdown/PCU nursing experience required.
- Current BLS certification.
- High acuity stroke and neurosurgery experience required.
- Telemetry experience required.
- Active NY RN license (only NY licenses accepted).
- Minimum of two (2) years RN experience.
- NIHSS certification required.
- ACLS certification preferred.
