X-Ray Technologist

Job Overview

• Position involves performing radiographic imaging of patients' bones, tissues, and organs according to physicians’ orders.
• Responsibilities include verifying patient identity, explaining procedures, positioning patients (including those with limited mobility), and producing high-quality diagnostic images.
• Must handle radiologic equipment safely to minimize patient radiation exposure.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure images are properly sent to the imaging system.
• Promptly report any damaged or malfunctioning equipment.
• Observe and respond to patient status with age-appropriate care.
• Ability to report within 30 minutes for on-call shifts.

Work Schedule

• Weekend shifts preferred: Friday 10:30 AM to midnight, Saturday 8 AM to midnight, Sunday 7:30 AM to 4 PM.
• On-call: 2-3 call shifts per month, with callback and holiday coverage as needed.
• Typical workweek: 36 hours.
• Shift length: 12 hours per day.

Required Qualifications

• Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology.
• Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Valid New York State X-Ray Technologist license or ability to obtain prior to starting.
• Minimum 2 years of X-Ray Technologist experience.
• Experience working in a Level 1 trauma center.
• Recent operating room (OR) experience at a Level 1 trauma center is required.
• Experience using C-arm or O-arm equipment within the past 8 months.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Ability to move or lift patients and stand for extended periods.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Patient, compassionate, and a team player.

Additional Requirements

• Must be able to report within 30 minutes for on-call shifts.
• Local candidates preferred.
