Description
Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (CVOR)
Location: Atlanta, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Day (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM)
Contract Length: 20 weeks
Unit Details
- Weekend rotation schedule to be discussed during interview
- Call schedule: Typically one weekday call per week and one weekend call every 5-6 weeks
- Floating within facility and scope of practice as needed
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
- First-time travelers accepted
- Return to Office (RTO) requirement: Maximum 7 days
- Holiday work expectations:
- If 1 major holiday falls during assignment, traveler expected to work it
- If 2 major holidays fall, traveler expected to work both
- If 3 major holidays fall, traveler expected to work 2 of them
- Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day
- Full compliance required to start on time; non-compliance may delay start by 2 weeks due to orientation scheduling
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate
- Orientation hours vary based on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia
- Minimum 2 years of CVOR nursing experience
- CVOR experience within the last year
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Compliance & Screening Requirements
Background & Education
- Background check required within 30 days of start; must be complete prior to start
- Education verification required; can be pending at start with proof of processing (due within 30 days post start)
- Official transcripts/diploma or verified tech cert/license acceptable if education cannot be verified immediately
Health & Immunizations
- Physical exam within 12 months of start (required by agency, not client)
- Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSpot) within 12 months of start; if past positive, additional documentation and chest x-ray required
- Annual TB questionnaire required regardless of TB status
- Immunization requirements:
- 2 MMR vaccines or positive titers for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, and Rubella
- 2 Varicella vaccines or positive titer
- Hepatitis B surface antibody titer or signed declination form
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap highly recommended but not required
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination required during flu season (Nov 1 – Mar 31)
Drug Testing
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start; instant drug screen acceptable
- Candidates cannot start with drug screen results pending
Competency Requirements
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required by agency (not client)
- Color blind testing required for all candidates; alternative assessment available if needed
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for CVOR and related specialties; up to 3 attempts allowed before cancellation
- Additional competency exams may be required depending on unit
Additional Requirements
- Candidate must review and sign Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance policies prior to start
- Two clinical references required by agency (not client)
- Skills checklist updated within 12 months required
- Verification of most recent employer required; can be pending at start with proof of processing
Notes
- Clinical screening will be conducted to determine clinical fit before final manager approval
- Orientation schedule is bi-weekly; compliance with all requirements is critical to avoid start delays
- Floating assignments will be within the facility and scope of practice
- Privileging and additional compliance requirements apply only to specific specialties (not applicable for CVOR RN)
