Cath Lab Tech - Travel/Contract

Location: Clearwater, Florida
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Day shift, 4x10 hours (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM)
• Hours per week: 40
• Weekend Requirement: Yes, typically 1 weekend shift every 4 weeks
• On-call Requirement: Yes, approximately 7-9 call shifts per month including weekends
• Daily Caseload: Varies
• Floating: No floating within or to sister facilities
• First-time Travelers: Not accepted
• Locals: Not accepted
• Pending State License: Not accepted
• Guaranteed Hours: Apply after first call off per pay period
• Block Schedule: To be discussed during interview if applicable

Required Experience & Skills

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Cath Lab/Cardiac Cath Lab
• Required skills: Scrub, EKG
• Experience with Balloon Angioplasty, PCI, Stents, Thrombectomy, Impella insertion, Left and Right heart catheterization, Rotablader Cardiac Cath Lab procedures
• Experience with diagnosis and procedures related to chest pain, NSTEMI, STEMI, valve disease, pulmonary hypertension, CTO, complex PCI, peripheral and complex peripheral interventions, carotid stent
• Cerner EMR experience preferred

Required Certifications & Licenses

• Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in Florida
• Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
• Current BLS certification
• Current ACLS certification
• RCIS or ARRT certification
• Scrub skills

Health & Safety Requirements

• COVID-19 vaccination required (medical or religious exemptions accepted)
• Physical exam within 6 months of start
• Negative TB test (PPD, Qgold, or Tspot) within 10 weeks of start; chest X-ray and TB questionnaire if prior positive PPD
• Annual TB questionnaire required in lieu of annual TB test
• Required immunizations or titers: Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella (with boosters if titers low/equivocal)
• Standard 9-panel drug test within 30 days of start (instant tests not accepted)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or declination with mask requirement during flu season
• Respirator medical clearance annually if respirator use is required

Background & Compliance

• Driver’s license required and must remain current throughout assignment
• Background check within 1 year of start, including 7 years of residence/work/school history, sex offender, education verification, and other standard checks
• Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start (Livescan electronic fingerprinting)
• Education verification required; foreign equivalency evaluation required if education completed outside US or Puerto Rico
• Two professional references from past 2 years required
• Employment application and skills checklist required
• Color blindness test required prior to start
• Medication/pharmacology competency exam required as applicable
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required with 100% lethal arrhythmia score (time sensitive)

• Hurricane exemption survey required if assignment during June 1 - November 30 window
