Description

Registered Nurse - Med/Surg

Location: Grand Junction, Colorado
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night, 12-hour shifts (36 hours per week)

Job Summary

Perform independent nursing and delegated medical functions according to state Board of Nursing standards.
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care.
Collect and assess health data to evaluate patient health status.
Provide health teaching, counseling, therapy, and treatment supportive of patient well-being.
Execute delegated medical functions and refer patients for further evaluation or treatment as needed.
Review and monitor therapy and treatment plans.
Document care in compliance with hospital and regulatory guidelines.
Utilize resources effectively.
May float to other departments within scope of competency (Medical Surgical, Surgical, Medical Oncology, Inpatient Rehab, Cardiac, Neuro Trauma Spine).
May be required to be on-call during scheduled shifts.

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Colorado.
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing.
Minimum of 1 year of Medical-Surgical nursing experience, with experience within the last year.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
Demonstrated ability in resource utilization.
