Description
Ultrasound Tech/Sonographer
Location: Lafayette, Colorado
Employment Type: Clinical Non-Nursing
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, Monday to Thursday, 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM
Hours: 32 hours per week (4 days x 8 hours)
On-Call: 1 call every 4-5 weeks including assigned holidays
Weekends: No weekend shifts
Job Summary
Perform Ultrasound procedures to obtain imaging results according to physician specifications. Responsibilities include patient transfer for examinations, assisting with the ultrasound process, operating ultrasound imaging equipment, and ensuring quality and timely patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate all ultrasound imaging and related equipment appropriately.
- Educate, position, and immobilize patients for ultrasound procedures.
- Coordinate ultrasound examinations to maintain timeliness and quality.
- Follow provider imaging orders accurately.
- Submit images and clinical information to Radiologists for interpretation.
- Evaluate image quality effectively.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with patients, coworkers, Radiologists, and leadership.
- Utilize and maintain department supplies properly.
- Practice sterile technique and adhere to infection prevention policies.
- Manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines safely, including patient transfers.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist, including vascular ultrasound.
- Recent Ultrasound Technologist experience within the last year.
- Associate’s degree.
- ARDMS certification.
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
