Description

Registered Nurse - Emergency

Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Employment Type: Direct Care Registered Nurse
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
Specialty: Emergency Nursing

Job Description

Provide nursing care to patients with a range of health problems from simple to complex under general supervision. Responsibilities include:

Managing an assigned group of patients and documenting their responses to nursing interventions and medical treatments.
Assisting physicians with patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures.
Monitoring physiological data and intervening as necessary.
Administering medications, intravenous infusions, and blood products.
Communicating care plans with patients and families, including at discharge.
Making referrals for patient care needs and delegating tasks to support staff.

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oklahoma
Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification

Additional Information

Trauma and travel experience is required.
Preferred education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing or higher from a board-approved program.
