Description
Radiology Technologist
Location: Butte, Montana
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 12 hours per day (36 hours per week)
Employment Type: Clinical Non-Nursing
Job Summary
Perform radiographic procedures to obtain diagnostic images according to physician specifications. Responsibilities include patient transfer for examinations, operating X-ray imaging equipment, assisting with X-ray exams, and ensuring image quality for radiologist interpretation.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic X-ray procedures safely and accurately.
- Operate all X-ray imaging and related equipment appropriately.
- Educate, position, and immobilize patients for imaging procedures.
- Coordinate examinations to ensure timeliness and continuity of patient care.
- Submit images and clinical information to Radiologists for interpretation.
- Evaluate image quality and maintain radiation safety measures (ALARA).
- Prepare and administer contrast agents per Radiologist protocols.
- Practice sterile technique and follow infection prevention policies.
- Communicate effectively with patients, coworkers, Radiologists, and leadership.
- Maintain and utilize department supplies properly.
- Supervise and evaluate Student Radiographers in clinical settings.
- Manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Radiology Technologist license in Montana
- Minimum of 1 year of Radiology Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
- Registration with The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- CT certification
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
