Job Opportunity: Critical Care Float Nurse
Location: Cartersville, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Night (4 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Contract Length: 10 weeks
Job Description
- Position is for hospital float pool staff, expected to float throughout the hospital including the Emergency Department.
- Primary work area is the ER hold area.
- Floating within facility and scope of practice as needed.
- Weekend schedule: Every other weekend.
- No on-call duties.
- No block schedule requests allowed.
- Must work major holidays if they fall during the assignment (expectation to work 1-2 major holidays depending on how many fall within the contract).
- Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia
- Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, with ICU experience within the last year
- Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Current PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience floating across hospital units
Additional Information
- Orientation hours are non-billable and vary based on contract length (e.g., 10 hours for a 10-week assignment).
- Full compliance with all requirements is mandatory to start on time; failure to comply may delay start by two weeks due to orientation scheduling.
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers.
- Candidates must review and sign facility-specific policies including Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance Policy prior to start.
- No prior travel experience is required for this position.
This role is ideal for experienced RNs comfortable with floating across hospital units, especially in critical care and emergency settings, working night shifts, and meeting comprehensive credentialing and compliance standards.
