Description
Job Opportunity: ER Registered Nurse
Location: Augusta, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Job Summary
- Work in a small Emergency Room with 14 beds, serving patients from pediatrics to geriatrics.
- Ambulance on site 24/7 for patient transport to higher-level care if needed.
- No IV team; wound care provided virtually.
- Orientation partly at a nearby larger hospital campus (~3 miles away).
- Patient-to-nurse ratio: 1:4.
- Unit uses Epic, Pyxis, SBAR, and Spacelabs systems.
- Scrub color: Navy Blue.
- Shift: Night, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7 PM to 7 AM).
- Weekend work: Every other weekend.
- Floating: Possible to the nearby larger hospital campus.
- Call: None required.
- Holidays: Expected to work major holidays during assignment (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day). If multiple holidays fall in the assignment, work expectations increase accordingly.
- Return to Orientation (RTO): Maximum 7 days allowed; blackout dates during Spring Break (April 4-12).
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Georgia.
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, with at least some experience within the last year.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Current ACLS certification.
- Current PALS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system.
Additional Requirements & Notes
- Must comply fully with all onboarding and credentialing requirements to start on time; delays result in a 2-week pushback due to bi-weekly orientation scheduling.
- Two clinical references required by agency.
- Verification of most recent work history required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process (due within 30 days post start).
- Skills checklist updated within 12 months required.
- Candidate must review and sign facility-specific policies including Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance.

- No cafeteria on site; vending machines available for meals.
- Orientation includes time at a larger nearby hospital campus.
- Floating to larger campus possible, providing exposure to a broader patient population.
