Description
Job Opportunity: Invasive Cardiovascular Technologist
Location: Grand Junction, Colorado
Employment Type: Clinical Non-Nursing Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Provide technical support during invasive cardiovascular procedures in the cardiac catheterization laboratory.
- Assist physicians with radiological imaging and act as scrub assistant, maintaining sterile conditions.
- Operate imaging equipment and monitor/document procedure images and events from the control room.
- Provide patient care under RN supervision.
- Educate patients and families about the procedure, including pre- and post-procedure expectations and physical conditions.
- Maintain unit orderliness, cleanliness, and appropriate stock levels for complex interventions and diagnostic procedures.
- Complete daily, progress, and discharge documentation according to departmental standards.
- Participate in quality and patient safety initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and potential safety hazards.
Work Schedule
- 10-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, with rotating days off.
- On-call duties on weekdays and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- One (1) year of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist, with experience within the last year.
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- ACLS certification.
- Fluoroscopy Certification.
- ARRT or ARRT-Radiography (R) or ARRT-Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (CV) or ARRT-Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI).
- RCIS or RCES certification, or Fluoroscopy Operator Registration.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s degree.
- Two (2) years of experience in Cardiology or Cath Lab.
- Certifications such as:
- ARRT in Radiography (R), Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (CV), or Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI).
- CCI Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS).
- CCI Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES).
- Fluoroscopy Operator Registration (required for RCIS and/or RCES).
Additional Information
- Emphasis on promoting patient safety, quality improvement, and adherence to service behavior standards.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
