Job Opportunity: Invasive Cardiovascular Technologist

Location: Grand Junction, Colorado
Employment Type: Clinical Non-Nursing Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Provide technical support during invasive cardiovascular procedures in the cardiac catheterization laboratory.
• Assist physicians with radiological imaging and act as scrub assistant, maintaining sterile conditions.
• Operate imaging equipment and monitor/document procedure images and events from the control room.
• Provide patient care under RN supervision.
• Educate patients and families about the procedure, including pre- and post-procedure expectations and physical conditions.
• Maintain unit orderliness, cleanliness, and appropriate stock levels for complex interventions and diagnostic procedures.
• Complete daily, progress, and discharge documentation according to departmental standards.
• Participate in quality and patient safety initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and potential safety hazards.

Work Schedule

• 10-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, with rotating days off.
• On-call duties on weekdays and weekends.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• One (1) year of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist, with experience within the last year.
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• ACLS certification.
• Fluoroscopy Certification.
• ARRT or ARRT-Radiography (R) or ARRT-Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (CV) or ARRT-Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI).
• RCIS or RCES certification, or Fluoroscopy Operator Registration.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s degree.
• Two (2) years of experience in Cardiology or Cath Lab.
• Certifications such as:

  • ARRT in Radiography (R), Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (CV), or Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI).
  • CCI Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS).
  • CCI Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES).
• Fluoroscopy Operator Registration (required for RCIS and/or RCES).
