Registered Nurse - MS/Tele (Travel/Contract)

Location: Wilmington, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Overview

Position supports the Emergency Department (ED) Holding unit within the float pool.
Patients are adults with medical/surgical diagnoses, including PCU level patients.
Responsibilities include caring for MS/Telemetry patients and floating to ED and MedSurg areas as needed.
Target nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:6 for MS/Tele patients, 1:4 for PCU level patients.
Shift: Night shift, 36 or 48 hours per week (3x12 hour shifts, 18:45 to 7:15).
Weekend requirement: Every other weekend.
Maximum allowed call-off (RTO) after booking is 7 days; additional call-offs may lead to cancellation.
Contract staff may be required to participate in Storm/Hurricane Teams or respond to catastrophic events.

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in North Carolina
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry nursing experience, with experience within the last year
BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
ACLS certification
Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
Use of Rapid Response Teams
Phlebotomy skills
High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) experience
Non-invasive airway management
Tracheostomy management
