ICU Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job - Fayetteville, North Carolina

Position Overview

Job Title: ICU Registered Nurse
Location: Fayetteville, NC
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Patient Ratio: 1:2-3
Facility Type: Short-term acute care, Level III Trauma Center, Teaching Hospital
Total Staffed Beds: 733
Charting System: Epic
Scrub Color: Royal blue and white

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, with ICU experience within the last year
Certifications:
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Education: Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Job Requirements & Conditions

Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
On-call: Not required
Floating: Must float within scope to like units as needed
Block Scheduling: Facility is open to accommodating block scheduling
Local Candidates: Not accepted if within 50-mile radius of main campus
Pending License: Not accepted
Return Staff Policy: Must be gone for 1 year to return as a traveler
Contract Limit: Maximum of 2 contracts (one extension allowed), then must be gone for 6 months before returning
Guaranteed Hours: Call-off policy allows 2 shifts off per 13-week assignment; all contracted shifts beyond that are guaranteed

Additional Notes

Interview Availability: Must be provided upon submission
Photo for Badge: Professional passport-style photo required without large earrings, face piercings, unnatural hair colors, or head coverings (unless religious)
Facility Orientation: Expect to be in orientation for most of the first Monday; report time 6:30 AM
Flu Season: 2025-2026 flu season runs from August 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026; vaccine documentation must include detailed info (name, manufacturer, lot #, etc.)
COVID-19 Vaccines: Not required but accepted if available

This position offers an opportunity to work in a high-acuity ICU setting within a large trauma and teaching hospital, requiring strong critical care skills, certifications, and compliance with rigorous facility policies and health requirements.
