Registered Nurse (RN) - Long Term Care (LTC)
Location: West Burlington, Iowa
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Evenings (2:30 PM – 11:00 PM)
Job Description
- Provide routine daily nursing care and other services based on resident assessments, preferences, and care plans.
- Collaborate closely with the RN Manager to manage day-to-day operations.
- Facility size: 160 beds. Resident-to-nurse ratios to be discussed during the interview.
- Previous experience with Epic electronic health records within the last 12 months in a long-term care setting is required.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Iowa
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years of rehabilitation experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience in a Long Term Care setting
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Experience with Epic electronic health records
- Valid Driver’s License
Onboarding and Compliance Requirements
- Drug screen (9-panel, excluding THC) within 30 days of start.
- Influenza vaccine or facility declination (seasonal, due by December 1).
- COVID-19 vaccine or declination accepted.
- MMR: 2 vaccines or positive titer; booster or declination accepted if low/equivocal.
- Hepatitis B: 2 vaccines or positive titer; booster or declination accepted if low/equivocal.
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer; booster or declination accepted if low/equivocal.
- Tdap valid within 10 years or declination accepted.
- TB test: Negative test within past 2 years (TSPOT, QuantiFERON IGG, or 2-step Mantoux). If prior positive, must provide chest x-ray within 5 years and recent questionnaire.
- Fit test for approved respirators completed prior to start.
- Health statement from a physician within the last 12 months (updated every 4 years).
- Current driver’s license or state ID (valid throughout assignment).
- Background check within 30 days of start including SS trace and county search for last 7 years.
- Iowa Adult and Child Abuse clearance (state requirement).
- EPLS/GSA/SAM HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start.
- References: 2 professional references required, including 1 supervisor.
- Resume or profile submission required.
- I-9 attestation on agency letterhead.
- Color vision test within 1 year (Relias accepted).
- Skills checklist completed within 12 months (does not expire).
- Pre-orientation computer-based learning (CBL) acknowledgement form.
- Epic registration acknowledgement form signed after registration completion.
- Additional background screenings (NSO, OFAC, SING) within 30 days of start.
- Contract employee data sheet and Evergreen Link acknowledgment (time sensitive).
Summary
This is an evening shift RN position in a 160-bed long-term care facility requiring recent Epic experience in LTC, BLS and ACLS certifications, and comprehensive onboarding compliance including immunizations, drug screening, and background checks. The contract length is approximately 13 weeks. Prior travel experience is not required.
