Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse
Location: Columbus, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Job Summary
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (Interventional Radiology)
- Shift: Day shift, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (7:30 AM – 4:00 PM)
- Patient Population: Pediatrics through Geriatrics
- Average daily census: 25 patients, with a 4-room ratio
- Unit Systems: Epic (required), Pyxis, SBAR
- Scrub color provided by facility
- Floating: Within facility and scope of practice as needed
- Call: Rotated among team members
- Weekends: Every third weekend (max 2 per month)
- Holidays: Required to work 1-2 major holidays if they fall during assignment
- Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days
Required Experience & Skills
- Valid Registered Nurse license in Georgia
- Minimum 1 year of Interventional Radiology experience within the last year
- Stroke thrombectomy experience (hard requirement)
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- ACLS certification
- NIHSS certification
Required Certifications
- Additional certifications may be required depending on unit specifics (refer to clinical track)
Licensure
- State license verification required within 30 days prior to start
- Annual NURSYS verification required within 30 days prior to start
Compliance & Screening
- Full compliance with all onboarding requirements is mandatory to start on time; delays result in a 2-week pushback due to orientation scheduling
- Clinical screening will be conducted to determine clinical fit before final approval
- Background check required within 30 days of start, including:
- Criminal history (national and county-specific)
- Sex offender registry
- Education verification
- Drug screen: Negative 10-panel drug test within 60 days of start (instant drug screen acceptable)
- Physical exam required within 12 months of start
- Color blindness test required
- Competency exams required (medication/pharmacology, dysrhythmia/EKG) with limited attempts allowed for dysrhythmia exam
- Skills checklist within 12 months, updated annually
- Work history verification and 2 clinical references required
Health & Immunization Requirements
- TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSpot) within 12 months or chest x-ray if previously positive
- Annual TB questionnaire required
- Immunizations or positive titers required for:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B (titer or signed declination)
- Flu vaccination or declination required during flu season (Nov 1 – Mar 31)
Additional Notes
- Orientation hours are non-billable and vary based on contract length
- Dress and professional appearance policy must be reviewed and acknowledged prior to start
- Code of conduct must be reviewed and signed prior to start
- Candidate must be prepared to work assigned holidays as outlined
- Locals accepted at the same rate
