Registered Nurse - Med/Surg Oncology

Location: Billings, Montana
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night
Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week


Job Summary

  • Perform independent nursing and delegated medical functions according to state Board of Nursing standards.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care.
  • Collect and assess health data to evaluate patient health status.
  • Provide health teaching and counseling.
  • Deliver supportive and restorative therapy and treatment directly or through consultation, delegation, supervision, or teaching.
  • Execute delegated medical functions and refer patients for further evaluation or treatment as needed.
  • Review and monitor therapy and treatment plans.
  • Document care in compliance with hospital and regulatory guidelines.
  • May float to other departments within competency and qualifications.
  • May be required to be on-call during scheduled shifts.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse license in Montana
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Minimum of 1 year of oncology nursing experience, with oncology experience within the last year
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • ACLS certification
  • NRP certification
  • PALS certification issued by the American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
  • Previous experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • Certification relevant to the unit or service.

Skills & Experience

  • Nursing care, health teaching, health data assessment, and health counseling.
  • Therapy and treatment planning and execution.
  • Patient referral and treatment plan monitoring.
  • Accurate documentation and use of resources.
