Registered Nurse - Mom/Baby
Location: Denver, Colorado
Employment Type: Clinical Nursing (Contract)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night
Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week
Job Summary
- Perform independent nursing and delegated medical functions according to state Board of Nursing standards.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care.
- Continuously evaluate patient health status through data collection and assessment.
- Provide health teaching and counseling.
- Deliver supportive and restorative therapy and treatment directly or through consultation, delegation, supervision, or teaching.
- Execute delegated medical functions and refer patients for further evaluation or treatment as needed.
- Review and monitor therapy and treatment plans.
- Document care in compliance with hospital and regulatory guidelines.
- Utilize resources effectively.
- May float to other departments within scope of competency.
- May be required to be on-call during scheduled shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Colorado.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing.
- At least 1 year of Maternal-Newborn nursing experience, including experience within the last year.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Advanced certification in ACLS, NRP, or PALS issued by the American Heart Association.
- Registered nursing experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
- Previous experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Certification relevant to the unit or service.
Skills and Experience
- Nursing care, health assessment, health teaching, and health counseling.
- Therapy and treatment planning.
- Execution of medical functions, patient referral, and treatment plan monitoring.
- Accurate documentation and resource utilization.
