Telemetry Nurse

Unit Overview
- Cardiac telemetry unit
- Adult to geriatric patient population
- 32 beds
- Typical nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5–6
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Georgia
- Telemetry (2 years of experience)
- Telemetry experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Experience managing continuous IV cardiac medications including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Milrinone, Nitroglycerin, Bumex, Lasix, Aggrastat, Argatroban, Heparin, and insulin drips
- Arrhythmia management experience
- Cardioversion experience
Clinical Experience Needed
- Arrhythmia management
- Cardioversion
- Cardiac CHF
- Chest pain
- Renal and pulmonary care, including COPD and pulmonary edema
- PE and DVT
- Stable A-fib, SVT, and bradycardia
- Surgical overflow care, including cholecystectomy, appendectomy, chest tubes, and biliary drains
- Vascular patients
- Post-cardiac cath care
- TR bands
- DKA
- Occasional ortho or CVA overflow
- Basic med-surg and arrhythmia knowledge
Work Setting Details
- Overflow IMCU
- Floating within the facility and scope of practice as needed
- Call is rare; 2-hour response time
- Typically every other weekend
- Must work assigned major holidays during the contract
- Maximum of 7 days of requested time off per contract
Additional Notes
- First-time travelers are not accepted
- Epic is preferred
- Navy blue scrubs
- Full compliance is required before start
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
