Cardiac Telemetry Nurse

Schedule Notes
- Typically every other weekend
- Floating required within the facility/scope of practice as needed
- Call is rare; 2-hour response time
- One major holiday must be worked if it falls during the assignment; two major holidays must be worked if two fall during the assignment; two of three major holidays must be worked if three fall during the assignment
Unit Overview
- Adult to geriatric patient population
- Overflow IMCU with cardiac telemetry/step-down level care
- Common needs include arrhythmia management, cardioversion, cardiac CHF, chest pain, renal, pulmonary, PE/DVT, stable A-fib, SVT, bradycardia, post-cardiac cath, TR bands, DKA, and occasional vascular, ortho, or CVA overflow patients
- Must be comfortable with continuous IV medications, including cardiac drips, diuretics, anticoagulants, and insulin drips
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Georgia
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Telemetry experience within the last year
- 2 years of telemetry experience
- One completed travel assignment
- Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Current ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- 2 years of experience managing continuous IV medications including cardiac drips (Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Milrinone, Nitroglycerin), diuretics (Bumex, Lasix), anticoagulants (Aggrastat, Argatroban, Heparin), and insulin drips
- Must be able to pass dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam
Additional Requirements
- Full compliance is required before start
- Maximum of 7 days of requested time off per contract
- Navy blue scrubs
- Epic familiarity is preferred

- Locals are accepted at the same rate
- Background check, education verification, and health/compliance documentation are required before start
