PACU RN
Overview

- Contract length: 18 weeks

- Inpatient PACU RN role
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:2
- Must work 2 of 3 holiday bundles
- Weekend requirement: one per month
- On-call required: 1–2 overnight call shifts monthly
- Floating: may float within PACU Holding area
- No block schedule accommodation
- No locals within 100 miles
- Pending license accepted
- First-time travelers accepted
Required qualifications
- Valid RN license in New Mexico
- PACU - Post Anesthesia Care (2 years of experience)
- PACU - Post Anesthesia Care experience within the last year
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients
- Driver's License
- Telemetry experience
Procedures and clinical expectations
- Pre/post cath lab procedures required
- Pre/post IR procedures required
Compliance and onboarding
- Physical exam within 1 year before start
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year before start
- Negative drug screen within 30 days before start
- Flu vaccination or documentation required year-round before start
- COVID vaccination is optional
- Two professional references within 3 years of hire
- Complete application with at least 3 years of work history
- Skills checklist required
- Work history verification required
- Fingerprinting required onsite during orientation
- Background check required
- Education verification required
- Orientation safety manual acknowledgement required
- Traveler compliance form required
- Welcome PowerPoint acknowledgement required
- Background registration required
- Emergency contact form required
- Cerner training attestation required for all RNs starting with the 8/4/25 orientation group
- Pass/fail dysrhythmia testing required for this role
