Required Qualifications

MRI Technologist (1 year of experience)
MRI Technologist experience within the last year
ARRT registered technologist
BLS issued by American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications

MR registered by ARRT

Clinical Responsibilities

Ensures proper patient identification and order verification, and prepares the patient for the exam
Performs MRI examinations per department protocol
Selects proper scanning techniques and protocols in coordination with the radiologist
Administers intravenous contrast material as ordered and under radiologist or physician supervision
Practices infection control and sterile techniques
Operates MRI equipment and related information systems
Views, transfers, archives, and manipulates images
Troubleshoots the MRI scanner and understands shutdown and startup procedures
Understands the Quench procedure and MRI safety policy, including the FOUR ZONE concept
Completes required documentation, including time stamps and image storage
Maintains quality control and reports equipment failures or problems
