Emergency Department Registered Nurse
Overview
- Travel/contract RN position in Pennsylvania
- 13-week assignment
- 36 hours per week
- 12-hour shifts on days, nights, or rotating schedule
- Emergency Department setting
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Pennsylvania
- ED - Emergency Department (2 years of experience)
- ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- PALS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIHSS
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Preferred Qualifications
- TNCC
- CPI or de-escalation training
- Experience in a community hospital ED
- Strong IV and critical assessment skills
- Experience caring for pediatric and adult emergency patients
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred
Key Responsibilities
- Perform rapid assessment and triage
- Provide nursing care for medical, surgical, cardiac, neurologic, respiratory, orthopedic, and trauma emergencies
- Administer medications, IV therapy, blood products, and emergency interventions
- Monitor patient status and respond to changes in condition
- Assist with cardiac emergencies, stroke response, sepsis management, trauma stabilization, and respiratory emergencies
- Collaborate with the care team
- Document patient care in the electronic medical record
- Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment, and discharge instructions
- Follow hospital policies, infection prevention standards, and patient safety initiatives
